In Ripley’s Road Trip Episode 1, Aaron arrives at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando to explore the new Weird Florida gallery—home to shrunken heads owned by famed Key West resident Ernest Hemingway, unexplained footprints, and even an ancient alligator.
Orlando’s fossilized gator is one of the most complete specimens ever discovered. Ages ago, the ancient crocodilian's body slid into a limestone crevice on the bottom of a prehistoric lake and was quickly covered by fine silt and clay, ensuring its preservation. It was recovered only a few years ago in Northern Florida and retains the interesting orange-brown color of the ancient clay.
Beyond Weird Florida, marvel at hundreds of rare and unusual artifacts and get hands-on with unbelievable interactives at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando.
